Flashback Friday today is Diana Priest, coached by Tasmin Maher.
Diana: “My riding career started when I was in grade 8, where seven friends of mine would go riding about every Friday afternoon at a small yard out in Muldersdrift. Once I was in university I bought my first horse, Tara’s Wood aka “Presley”… an absolutely loving Thoroughbred that was always willing to please. Presley and I moved to Glover Paddocks in 2013 where we learnt so much more with in a few months. My daughters started riding there from young and I have had the pleasure of sharing many lovely memories with all the ponies they have built their riding careers with so far. Then came my beautiful boy Returning Home “Rome”… a quirky, loving and heart warming thoroughbred that has taught me so much more than just the love of riding. He gave me a few uphill’s in the first few years, arena sourness and brave moments with donkeys, chickens and pigs… we learnt to be brave together and have come so far. Once Rome and I found each other, we grew in leaps and bounds. He is so willing in every ride and is the sweetest thing on the ground. I swear he can count and is all the way up to ten. For the past few years I baited Rome to his second person to me, Shanece. It was such a pleasure to see someone love and enjoy him beyond effort. She got his excited bucking out over jumps while I advanced my dressage riding. I have loved every minute at Glover since the beginning… making forever friends and learning so much from all the instructors, grooms and Maher family. I couldn’t ask for a better place to have as a second home for myself and my girls.”
We absolutely love having Diana and her wonderful daughters and horses apart of the glover family and we can’t wait for the many many more years together
